‘An edgy piece of drama which puts hip hop and black music theatre on centre stage’
[Birmingham Evening Mail]
Seen by over 35,000 people throughout the UK and causing roadblocks when the show arrived in its tour cities, Slamdunk was a…slam!
Basketball is the most popular game on the planet. Streetball is its rougher, tougher, younger brother, where beats are the rhythm of the game. The object – get the ball into the opposing net; but you’ve got to have style.
Cory is the best streetball player on the estate. He wants to leave his team, the Zeros, and go legit with the A-list. But when burning ambition takes over and he turns his back on his friends and family, his dream threatens to destroy him.
Brotherhood is the team, the bond that unites these young black men against the opposition, against the outside world, against traitors. Blending fast-paced action, stunning basketball moves, rap and street dance, Slamdunk was a dazzling, highly charged musical about Basketball, Beats & Brotherhood.
